Ski connection to Arlberg - Lechtal’s close proximity to Arlberg means it has a lot of shared history and this also creates advantages in terms of tourism. The idea to connect the Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken ski areas together was first born in the 1970s.
Holzgau and the upper Lechtal have always been closely linked to the neighbouring community of Schröcken in Vorarlberg. The Lechtal ski bus runs on well developed roads at regular intervals and it is free to use the ski bus. Thanks to the two Vorarlberg ski areas Warth-Schröcken being connected to Lech-Zurs by the Auenfeldjet the range of slopes on offer was already expanded a few years ago, but now it has finally been completed and more new lifts now make it possible to reach ALL the ski resorts on the Arlberg on skis.
The 2016/2017 winter season marked a turning point in Arlberg’s history. As Austria’s largest networked ski area and one of the five largest in the world, Ski Arlberg stands for a new dimension in skiing fun.
305 spectacular kilometres of ski runs offer winter sports enthusiasts almost endless possibilities to experience all aspects of the legendary Arlberg and immerse themselves in a unique winter paradise: from St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben via Zürs and Lech to Schröcken and Warth, surrounded by impressive peaks and in the stunning valley, both on and off piste.
